Dinos sweep WolfPack on the road

BOX SCORE KAMLOOPS, BC - The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack came close in the third set but the final result was the same in Canada West women's volleyball action. The WolfPack fell 3-0 for the second straight match to the visiting University of Calgary Dinos. The scores were 25-12, 25-15, 25-21.

The result moves Calgary to 3 and 1 on the season while the 'Pack have yet to taste victory in four starts.

"The WolfPack brought some defensive scrappiness today," said Dinos head coach Natalie Gurnsey. "Our challenge still remains the same.  We need to continue to work at the things we need to get better at.  We were good in two sets but struggled in the third.  We are a young team and that will continue to be our challenge."

The Dinos were led by Emma Pedersen with 10 kills in 14 chances. Maura Hayes had seven kills.  Kyjsa Brkich had 19 assists while Courtney Davis had eight digs.

TRU was led by Brianne Rauch. The team captain from Kimberley, BC had 10 kills in 41 swings. Tori Taneda had 19 asists.

Morgan Kolasa  had six kills in 29 chances and Kaitlin Lomas had six kills as well in 10 chances. She was named the "McDonalds/TRU Bookstore Leader of the Pack player of the match."

The WolfPack hit the road for UBC next weekend (Nov 8-9).  The Dinos will visit Regina next weekend. Next home match for TRU will be Friday, November 22nd at the Tournament Capital Centre against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.
