BOX SCORE CALGARY - The University of Calgary Dinos were swept by the Trinity Western Spartans after falling 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-16 ) on Nov. 16 at Jack Simpson Gym.

The Dinos remain with a .500 record of 4-4 after this weekend while No. 3 Trinity Western improves to 5-3.

Ali Woolley recorded 14 kills for the second night in a row for the Dinos to lead them in scoring. Maura Hayes added seven kills of her own and a team-high nine digs. Setter Jordhynn Guy picked up 31 assists in the loss and seven digs.

For the Spartans, Royal Richardson led the way with a game-high 20 kills in the match. She also had seven digs. Libero Kristen Moncks picked up 10 digs and sister Lauren Moncks recorded a game-high 33 assists.

Both teams battled it out in the first set with some tight points on either side of the court. Woolley had already scored seven kills after the first, leading all players, but it was the Spartans that got the best of it when they went on to win it 25-21. Both setters had already accumulated 13 assists after the first.

Like the previous night, the Dinos had trouble in the second, coming out flat. The Spartans found a way to shut down Calgary's biggest threat in Ali Woolley. The Dinos hitting percentage dropped to 0.086 while Trinity Western found a way to capitalize. They won the second set easily, 25-16.

In the third, the efforts didn't get much better on Calgary's end as the score was the same results. Big pick-ups on defence from Spartan libero Moncks and some huge blocks up front proved to be the difference maker as the Spartans completed the sweep.

The Dinos will head out to Vancouver to take on the No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds while the Spartans will host the Regina Cougars next weekend.
