Heat burn Dinos in five...again

| By:
BOX SCORE KELOWNA, B.C. – Despite going the distance with the UBC Okanagan Heat for the second straight night, the Dinos couldn't finish again Saturday night as they dropped another heartbreaker 3-2 (26-24, 25-15, 17-25, 21-25, 15-13) in Kelowna.

The Dinos defense kept the Heat offense frustrated, outblocking the home team with 32 block assists while holding the Heat to a .161 hitting percentage. The Dinos' second-year Middle Courtney Dawson tallied a team-high 16 kills while recording seven block assists and two solo blocks. Fifth-year outside hitter Andrea Price put down 12 kills and recorded 15 digs.

The Heat's Emily Oxland led the game with 61 assists to coordinate the Heat offense. Fifth-year Alex Basso was continuously stymied by the Dinos' defense but still managed to finish with 15 kills behind Festival. Second-year Katie Wuttunee was big for the Heat down the stretch and finished with 11 kills.

The Heat improve to 11-5 for the season and are on the road next weekend with a back-to-back at the UBC Thunderbirds. The Dinos fall to 7-9 and are back at home at the Jack Simpson Gym to host the Thomson Rivers WolfPack. Their Friday night matchup begins at 7:30 p.m.
