Low scoring affair goes to Dinos - in a squeaker

| By:
BOX SCORE KELOWNA, B.C. – Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson's last-minute bucket proved to be enough as the University of Calgary Dinos escaped with a 59-56 win over the UBC Okanagan Heat Friday night in Kelowna.

The win inches the Dinos closer to the .500 mark as they sit at 5-6, while UBC Okanagan drops to 2-10 on the year.

Ogungbemi-Jackson led the Dinos with 17 points and eight rebounds, dishing out three assists in a workmanlike 37-minute effort, while Thijin Moses went a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc to put up 13 points and haul down a trio of boards.

Josh Owen-Thomas tied a game-high three steals while also recording a game-high five assists.

UBC Okanagan's Anwar Faza led the Heat in scoring with 15 points on 5-9 shooting while grabbing four rebounds in the effort.  Fellow guards Yassine Ghomari and Mitch Goodwin struggled for most of the night but still poured in 10 and 11 points, respectively.

Their first road win of the season in tow, the Dinos will head north to visit the Thompson Rivers WolfPack in Kamloops Saturday night, with tip-off slated for 8 p.m. MT live on CanadaWest.tv.
