WOMEN
Saskatchewan enters the weekend series looking to stop a six match losing streak, while the Dinos are coming off a split on the road against Brandon.

In a tough road-filled first half, the Huskies (1-9) have faced the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the country during the losing skid. Calgary enters the weekend at 4-6 winning just one of their last four matches.

A young squad, the Huskies are gaining experience with each match in the strong Canada West. Second-year middle blocker Kayla Tycholiz leads the Huskies' in offence with 72 kills, eight service aces and 21 blocks. Carmen Dubnick and Anne Hanbidge have also chipped in with 42 and 38 kills respectively. Returning from injury fourth-year outside hitter Candace Hueser has also started to play valuable minutes with 27 kills, three service aces, 20 digs and six blocks.

Three Dinos have tallied 100 or more kills on the season. Sarah Moncks leads the way with 120, followed by Lindsey Doland with 114 and Courtney Dawson with 109. Moncks has also been strong on defence with 127 kills and 31 blocks.

Since 1984, the Huskies are 26-43 against the Calgary Dinos.

MEN
Sitting on a two-match winning streak after sweeping the Mount Royal Cougars on the road last weekend, the No. 7 ranked Huskies will look to continue that momentum at home while the Dinos need wins in a bad way after dropping their last four straight and seven of their last eight.

Saskatchewan (5-5) enters the weekend series sitting in the middle of the standings in sixth place, while the Dinos, who are on a four-match losing streak, are 2-8. The Dinos have been swept by the UBC Thunderbirds and Brandon Bobcats during the skid.

Bryan Fraser led the Huskies through the sweep of the Cougars recording 30 kills and 22 digs in the two matches, including 18 in the 3-2 win on Friday. The fourth-year outside hitter leads the Huskies with 120 kills on the season.

Fellow outside hitter Paul Thomson is also having a strong offensive season with 112 kills, 66 digs and 11 blocks.  Also joining in for the Huskies attack has been middle blocker Braden McLean with 53 kills and 37 blocks. Setter Chris Gilbert has accumulated 375 assists, while libero and captain Jeff Grant has 89 digs.

The majority of Calgary's attack comes from Connor Frehlich with 106 kills and 61 digs. Greg Mann has added another 73 successful attacks, followed by Ivan Kartev with 61. As a team the Dinos have 48 service aces.
