Dinos fall to Bisons in straight sets

BOX SCORE WINNIPEG – The No. 4 Manitoba Bisons Men's Volleyball team won against the No. 9 Calgary Dinos with a score of 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-17).
 
The dominating Bisons team barely let their lead slip only allowing Calgary to pull ahead for a brief moment in the third set when the score sat at 1-2 for Calgary.

Middle Kenny Rooney had a game-high of nine blocks. He also leveled three kills for the Bisons.  
 
Captain and right side player Dane Pischke fought hard for his team with high jumps and solid spikes. Pischke had two service-aces. He ended with a game-high of 14 kills for the Bisons.
 
After the Bisons won the first two sets they went into the third pulling another strong lead keeping ahead by as many as seven points.
 
Calgary player Connor Frehlich gave the Dinos the most kills for their team at eight kills in the finish.
 
The Bisons finished the 2011-12 season in the second spot in the Canada West Conference and Calgary finished fourth.
 
The Dinos and the Bisons will face off again on Friday, Nov. 2.  The match will start at 7 p.m. CT at Investors Group Athletic Centre (U of Manitoba campus).
