BOX SCORE CALGARY - After opening the season with a 3-1 loss, the University of Calgary Dinos women's volleyball team made amends Saturday night, downing the Mount Royal University Cougars 3-1 (25-22, 25-10, 22-25, 25-17) in the Cougars home opener at Kenyon Court.

After the Cougars played the role of spoiler downing the Dinos in their home opener on Friday, Calgary would return the favour in front of a raucous MRU crowd.
With the win, the Dinos regain control of the Crowchild Classic leaderboard, grabbing both wins on Saturday to retake the lead at 3-2-2 on the season. Both teams move to 1-1 on the year after Saturday's result.
Former MRU Cougar
Andrea Price was lights out for the Dinos, registering a game-high 17 kills, while
Lindsey Doland and
Courtney Dawson each chipped in with 12 for the visitors.
Morgan Dale led the Dinos defensively with 14 digs.
Rookie Carolyn O'Dwyer continues to impress for Mount Royal leading the Cougars with a team-high 14 kills, while libero Tayler Smith dug up 11 balls on the night.
After a tight opening set that saw the Dinos escape with a narrow 25-22 set win, U of C came out blazing in the second against a sluggish Cougars squad that struggled to keep pace.
Sarah Moncks contributed the last three Dinos' kills as Calgary jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, winning the second set 25-10.
MRU would find life in the third set racing out to an early 9-3 lead and never looking back, capturing their only set of the night 25-22.
The fourth set would be all Calgary, as unforced errors on Mount Royal's behalf would leave them trying to play catch up all set, falling behind 20-16 and ultimately dropping 25-17.
The Dinos (1-1) head to Winnipeg next week to face the Manitoba Bisons.
