WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Wesmen extended their winning streak to four with an impressive straight sets victory over the Calgary Dinos (25-18, 25-19, 25-20) Thursday night in Winnipeg.

The two teams came out battling in the opening set exchanging leads and points to tie score of 15-15. The tide turned in Winnipeg's favor shortly after outscoring the Dinos 10-3 down the stretch to win the opening set 25-18. The Wesmen carried the play in the early stages of the second set scoring eight of the first ten points and maintained their lead to 16-10 at the technical timeout. Winnipeg would go on to take control of the match winning the second set 25-19. Winnipeg's dominance continued in the third set as the Wesmen built a 16-9 lead to the break and closed out the match winning the set 25-20.
Lauren Sears finished the match with nine kills and a team leading four blocks. First year left side led the Wesmen with a match high 12 kills. Nikolic and Tesca Andrew-Wasylik shared the team lead in digs with 13.
Fifth year middle
Melanie Miazga led Calgary with nine kills. Lindsay Doland added eight kills and seven defensive digs.
The victory improves Winnipeg's record to 4-1, Calgary falls below .500 at 2-3. The two teams will wrap up their two match set Friday night at 6:30 p.m. MT
