SASKATOON - The reigning CIS champion University of Calgary Dinos stay perfect on the season after a 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18) victory over the University of Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday night at the PAC in Saskatoon.

With the win the Dinos sit at 4-0 in the young men's volleyball season, while the Huskies drop to 0-4. A night earlier, the Dinos won 3-0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-21).
David Egan led the Dinos with 13 kills, followed by
Graham Vigrass with 12 and
Allen Meek with 11. Matthew Busse finished the night with 16 kills for the Huskies, while Bryan Fraser added another 10.
In the first set, Calgary took control early, jumping out to a 10-6 lead. Saskatchewan was able to pull within two at 12-10 after a Meek service error, but that is as close as they could come. Calgary pulled back to a large lead on the strength of successful attacks by Vigrass and Egan. A kill that froze the Huskies by Vigrass ended the set 25-21.
Calgary had control of the second set immediately jumping to a 10-4 lead after five Egan serves. The Huskies were give the ball after a successful Busse attack, but immediately lost it on a service error. Service aces by Meek and Egan helped the Huskies to a 25-15 win.
Saskatchewan took the lead early in the third set after a Busse attack Calgary couldn't defend to make the game 3-2. The Huskies held the lead the rest of the way and were up 20-13 at one point in the set. Strong play by the Dinos, pulled them back into the set at 23-21. A Ben Bourgeois tip over the middle put the Huskies at set point but
Chris Hoag extended the Dinos' life. Busse once again came up with the big attack on the next play to give the Huskies the 25-23 win.
In the middle of the third set, the teams matched each other point-for-point meeting at eight, then again at nine. But a block by Meek and an attack error by the Huskies put Calgary back in front. It was the closest the Huskies could come. Calgary went on to win 25-18.
The Huskies travel to take on the University of Winnipeg Wesmen next weekend, while the Dinos travel to meet the Brandon University Bobcats.
