Dinos close out season at home vs. national champs

| By:
CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos women's rugby side has a tall order ahead of them as the undefeated, top-ranked University of Lethbridge Pronghorns begin their weekend tour of the province with a Friday tilt.

The Dinos enter this game with a winless 0-3 record after being shut-out by tenth-ranked UBC and No. 5Alberta. Their other loss came after losing a close-fought 32-22 bout with Victoria.

Lethbridge has been a powerhouse all year and is currently the No. 1-ranked team in CIS. Their wins this year are both the result of a west coast tour that saw them take town Victoria 63-0 and UBC 48-7.

A month ago these teams met in a pre-season tune-up game with Lethbridge taking that game 40-0.

This game will mark the end of the season for the Dinos who, despite doing much better than last year, haven't been able to oppose any of the powerhouse teams in Canada West. Lethbridge will continue their second playing tour of the season with a game against Alberta on Sunday, a rematch of the Canada West final from last season that saw the 'Horns win 30-0.

Lethbridge does not host any regular season matches this regular season but will host the Canada West tournament that starts on October 22nd.

The lone home match for the Dinos kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 at the University of Calgary's Field 7, northwest of the Olympic Oval.
