OTTAWA - Water Polo Canada is pleased to announce the Canadian men's water polo team for the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia.

A total of 13 athletes will represent Canada at the Universiade, with nearly half coming from the University of Calgary.

“It is a development program which provides athletes with great opportunity to face international level before they enter the Senior “A” team,” said Dragan Jovanovic, Water Polo Canada Men's National Team Program Leader / Head Coach. “The Men's program will pay close attention to those athletes and in the future, this program will be of a great importance for the Men's program development.”

The following athletes have been selected to represent Canada in Belgrade, Serbia at the 2009 Summer Universiade:
