REGINA, Sask. - The University of Regina's women's volleyball team will face the Calgary Dinos on Sunday afternoon in the gold medal final at the Cougar Invitational.
The Cougars advanced to the final after defeating the Alberta Pandas in a gruelling five-set semifinal match on Saturday night. The loss was the first for the tournament for the Pandas, who had rolled through Pool A with a 3-0 record.
Calgary secured its berth in the semifinals on Saturday morning with a five-set victory over Brandon, then went the distance in a 3-2 win over Manitoba to earn a berth in the final.
Alberta will face Manitoba for the bronze medal on Sunday. Saskatchewan and Brandon will meet in the fifth-place match, while Simon Fraser and Winnipeg will battle for seventh place.
