REGINA - The Calgary Dinos recovered from a 2-1 deficit to record a come-from-behind five-set victory on Friday night over the Regina Cougars in Canada West women's volleyball action at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

The Dinos opened up the match with a 25-19 win in the first set, but the Cougars replied with 25-19 and 25-18 victories in the second and third.
Ranked No. 3 in the CIS, Calgary took a 25-15 win in the fourth set to force a fifth and deciding set, which the Dinos took by a 15-8 margin over the No. 9-ranked Cougars.
Calgary's Holly Harper had 14 kills and fell just one dig short of a double-double. Harper had just two errors on 38 attacks, giving her a .316 hitting percentage for the match. Julie Young led the Dinos defensively with 15 digs, while Lauren Perry chipped in with 11 to go along with her nine kills. Laura Spence had seven assisted blocks to lead all players at the net.
Regina's Tammy Jule tied Harper for the match high with 14 kills, while Lisa Abrahamowicz had 13 kills and 11 digs. Kelly Cowan (11) and Tiffany Herman (10) both broke into double figures in digs, with Herman adding 36 assists to register one of the Cougars' two double-doubles on the night.
The win improves Calgary's record to 7-2, as the Dinos remain knotted with UBC for second place in Canada West. The Cougars, who are currently occupying seventh place in the conference, fall to 4-7 with the loss.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday night at the CKHS. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
NOTES: The teams met on Friday for the first time since squaring off in a best-of-three Canada West quarterfinal series last year, which the Dinos won in two matches.
