Erik Glavic lived up to his Canada West MVP billing Saturday, leading the No. 2 Calgary Dinos to their second straight Hardy Cup title with a nailbiting 39-38 victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday afternoon.
With honourable mention going to receiver Richard Snyder, who averaged 32 yards per catch to finish with 222 yards and two touchdowns on the day, Glavic earned was named MVP of the 73rd Hardy Cup after his performance. He completed 28 of 36 passes (77.8 per cent) for 479 yards and three touchdowns through the air, which was impressive enough. But he was also the Dinos leading rusher on the day, scampering for 106 yards and the game-winning four-yard touchdown with two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Glavic and head coach Blake Nill return to face their former team, the Saint Mary’s Huskies, in the Uteck Bowl Saturday, Nov. 21 at Huskies Stadium in Halifax, N.S. with a berth in the Vanier Cup at stake.
