The No. 4 Calgary Dinos left their early-game struggles behind them in Saturday’s 49-22 rout of the Simon Fraser Clan at McMahon Stadium, and the man at the controls was quarterback Erik Glavic.
The 2007 Hec Crighton winner directed the Calgary offence to a virtually error-free opening half, racking up 42 points in the first 30 minutes. He finished the game with 11 completions on 16 attempts for 218 yards and three touchdowns, adding four carries for 44 yards and a major of his own.
Most impressive, however, is the fact that Glavic did not take a single snap after halftime, so his stats reflect only the opening 30 minutes as Calgary flooded the field with reserve players in the second half. Under his leadership, the Dinos posted 357 yards of total offence in the first two quarters.
Calgary (3-1) heads on the road to face the UBC Thunderbirds (1-3) Saturday afternoon at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver.
