Sophomore forward Tessa Miller was almost singlehandedly responsible for the Calgary Dinos’ season-opening 5-4 victory over the Regina Cougars Saturday afternoon.

After assisting on the Dinos’ first goal moments after the Cougars took a 3-0 lead, Miller saved her best efforts for the final 12 minutes of play as the Dinos mounted a furious comeback. Trailing 4-1, she scored goals five minutes apart in the 78th and 83rd minutes to bring Calgary within one. After Lindsay Burrowes knotted the affair in the 86th minute, it was again Miller’s time to shine when she was awarded a free kick in the 90th minute. Miller made no mistake, beating Regina ‘keeper Michelle Anderson for her third goal of the afternoon and a dramatic game winner.

After dropping to 1-1 the following day in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manitoba, the Dinos head west next week to take on the Victoria Vikes and UFV Cascades in British Columbia.
