Fourth year halfback Matt Grohn had his best game of the 2008 season Sunday in Calgary’s 24-17 playoff win over the Regina Rams at McMahon Stadium.

Grohn posted seven solo and two assisted tackles (eight total) and added two of Calgary’s three sacks on Rams QB Teale Orban. He also added a pass deflection.

His biggest play, however, came late in the fourth quarter when Orban found Jordan Sisco on second-and-goal from the seven yard line. Sisco went one-on-one with Grohn, who was able to bring him down just shy of the end zone, setting up Regina’s failed third-and-goal attempt from the one yard line that sealed the victory for Calgary.

A fourth year communication and culture student, Grohn finished with 40 tackles on the season, the second-best total on the team.

Calgary hosts Simon Fraser in the Hardy Cup Final on Saturday, Nov. 8 at McMahon Stadium on Shaw TV and The FAN 960, with kickoff at 1 p.m.
