Tianna Rissling was a star performer for the Calgary Dinos at the CIS Swimming Championships. In her first championships, the rookie won four individual medals over the course of the meet and that earned her CIS Rookie of the Year honours.
Leading her team to a second place finish in the women’s standings, the Redcliff native took home her first medal on Thursday in the 100m breaststroke, finishing second. Later that night, she set a new CIS Championship Record in the 400m IM with a time of 4:37.81, a solid five seconds faster than the second place finisher.
The rookie took home bronze in the 200m breaststroke on Friday. In the final day of competition, Rissling won her second gold medal of the meet, this time in the 50m breaststroke, edging out teammate Fiona Doyle by 0.03 seconds.
