First-year swimmer Tianna Rissling won the Rookie of the Meet honours for her performance at the Canada West Swimming Championships held in Victoria, B.C. over the weekend.

In her first meet competing as a Dino, the Redcliff native won two individual gold medals. The first in the 50m fly and the second coming in the 400m individual medley. She set new Canada West records in each instance. 

The rookie also won a gold medal in the 4x100m free relay, and a bronze in the 200m breaststroke. 

Rissling helped lead the Dinos women's team to a silver medal finish in the team standings.
