Third-year quarterback Eric Dzwilewski just gets better and better with each passing week.

For the third time in four games this season, the 2010 CIS rookie of the year set a new career passing high in Saturday’s 65-7 dismantling of the UBC Thunderbirds by his No. 2 Calgary Dinos in Vancouver. His 388 yards was impressive – but his school single-game record 89.9 per cent completion rate was stunning. Dzwilewski and his receivers racked up those 388 yards with 24 completions on just 27 attempts, obliterating the previous record by nearly 10 per cent.

The Boise, Idaho native did all that – with three touchdown passes and a rushing TD to boot – in the first half and one drive in the third quarter before giving way to Andrew Buckley as the Dinos exploded for 710 yards of total offence in the game.

At the midway point of the season, Dzwilewski leads Canada West in all passing categories, and his 1291 yards is second only to Windsor’s Austin Kennedy in the nation. He and the Dinos put their 4-0 record on the line against the Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday night at McMahon Stadium before heading into the bye week.
