Fourth-year University of Calgary Dinos forward Tanya Morgan had a breakout weekend, scoring six points in two games as the Dinos swept the Lethbridge Pronghorns to move into a tie for second place in Canada West.
In Friday's 8-2 romp at Father David Bauer, the Kinesiology student picked up three assists, setting up Hayley Wickenheiser twice - including the game-winner.
A night later in Lethbridge, Morgan opened the scoring for Calgary with her second goal of the season, then added a pair of assists and again set up Wickenheiser for the winner midway through the third period.
Morgan entered the weekend with just two points on the season and quadrupled that output as the Dinos leapfrogged Lethbridge and sit tied with Alberta for second place, three points back of conference-leading Saskatchewan. The Dinos have two games in hand over both teams.
Calgary heads to Vancouver this week for a date with the UBC Thunderbirds.
