Fifth-year senior Ashley Hill had the weekend of her life against the Manitoba Bisons, scoring 38 and 34 points on consecutive nights as the Calgary Dinos all but clinched a playoff spot with a two-game sweep.

In the opener Friday, Hill came just two shy of the 40-point plateau – a mark that has been reached just five times in Canada West history. As it stands, her 38 points was the best single-game outing since Saskatchewan’s Sarah Crooks also put up 38 on Feb. 17, 2007 and ties her for the 10th-best game in conference history.

One night later, Hill hit six of her nine three-point attempts and went 10-12 from the stripe as the Dinos edged the Bisons 77-75. This time, she scored 34, giving her 72 points on the weekend in what is among the best two-game scoring performances in the history of Canada West women’s basketball. It was her third 34-point game of the season, giving her each of the top four single games in the conference in 2010-11.

Hill sits just 65 points back of second place on Calgary’s all-time scoring list with four games remaining in the regular season. That stretch starts this weekend with a two-game trip to Edmonton to take on the Alberta Pandas, and the Dinos close the season at home one week later against the Saskatchewan Huskies.
