Jenn Beagan

Jenn Beagan was named the 13th head coach of the University of Calgary Dinos field hockey program on Jan. 16, 2024.

In addition to her role with the Dinos, she currently serves as the head coach of Canada's Junior Women's National Team and leads the Calgary training hub for the Field Hockey Canada Women's NextGen National Program.

A native of Calgary, Beagan's coaching career began in British Columbia where she held several roles, including leading provincial teams and providing technical leadership in Field Hockey BC's High School Performance Academy. In 2017, she became Field Hockey Canada's first certified competition development coach and has since risen through the national sport organization's ranks. Beagan's previous roles with Field Hockey Canada include Coach Education Lead, True Sport Manager, and NextGen Director – all while assisting in the Canadian Women's National Team's daily training environment.

Beagan played varsity field hockey at Kent State University where she was an all-region midfielder. Before that, she was a member of the Canadian Women's Under-21 team and captained the squad at the 2000 Commonwealth Youth Games.

Beagan holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Design in 2004 and a Master of Architecture in 2006, both from Kent State. She completed her Advanced Coaching Diploma in 2019 through the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network and is an NCCP Level 3 Coach.
