Richard Smith became a member of the Dinos rugby coaching staff in 2012 after spending three years coaching the Calgary Canucks Rugby Club. He is a previous Welsh international scrum half and 13-year professional player in the PRO 12, English Premiership and European competitions, playing for Cardiff Blues and Sale Sharks amongst others from 1992 to 2005.

Richard has a BSc in Economics and an MBA, from Swansea and Cardiff University respectively, and is a chartered surveyor.
