Championship Pedigree
The University of Calgary has won 49 U SPORTS National Championships in 10 sports.
Additionally, the Dinos have captured 162 conference titles in Canada West in 22 sports.
The City of Calgary is known as the ultimate host city. The Dinos have hosted countless Canada West and U SPORTS championships, giving student-athletes home field advantage as they compete against the top teams in the country.

Academic Excellence
More than 3,000 Dinos student-athletes have achieved U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian status since 1998 by achieving a minimum 80 percent average (or equivalent) on a full-time course load while consuming eligibility.
Each year, one female and one male student-athlete from each of the four U SPORTS conferences are selected as Top 8 Academic All-Canadians. On 10 occasions, a Dinos student-athlete as received this honour. In 2021-22, UCalgary's Eric Lutz (Track & Field / Cross Country) and Rebecca Smith (Swimming) were both named Top 8 Academic All-Canadians, marking just the fifth time in Canada West history and 14th time across all U SPORTS conferences that one conference was represented by athletes from one single university.

The Lois and Doug Mitchell U SPORTS Athletes of the Year Awards (Formerly known as the Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) and Howard Mackie Awards, then the Lieutenant Governor's Athletic Awards) were created in 1993 to honour the top male and female athletes competing in U SPORTS.
Since 1993, a Dino has won a U SPORTS Athletes of the Year Award a record eight times, more than any other school in Canada.

Olympic Tradition
The Dinos have sent 67 current or former student-athletes to the Olympic and Paralympic Games since 1976, bringing home 16 total medals and 21 individual medals.
UCalgary was the proud host of the athletes' village and speed skating events at the XV Olympic Winter Games in 1988. The Olympic Oval remains a training facility for several Dinos teams.
