The female who has contributed the most exceptional service and support to the Athletic Department is annually presented with the Margaret Southern Award. Mrs. Southern was the first female instructor in the Faculty of Physical Education at the University of Calgary. She is the wife of well-known Calgary businessman Ron Southern of ATCO and Spruce Meadows fame. She and her husband were inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in 1992. Marg and Ron were the Calgary Booster Club Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year in 1986.
AWARD WINNERS - 57th ANNUAL NIGHT OF THE DINO:
Dina Taher joined the Dinos in 2014 and has played an integral role as an academic coach for all Dinos' student-athletes. Taher has gone above and beyond her job description and has helped countless Dinos over the years with class scheduling, program applications, eligibility and coursework, just to name some of the outstanding work she has provided with the Dinos Grade Point Success program.
