The broadcast team brings Dinos competitions to fans across the country through Canada West and U SPORTS streaming platforms while enhancing the in-venue experience at McMahon Stadium and Jack Simpson Gym.

On-Air Talent

Possible roles include:

Play-by-Play

Duties:

• Describe the action and provide live game coverage
• Conduct interviews with coaches and student-athletes
• Guide the flow of the broadcast before, during, and after commercial breaks

Analyst

Duties:

• Provide insight into game strategy, tactics, and key moments
• Explain technical aspects of the sport for viewers

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport
• Strong communication skills
• Previous broadcast experience is an asset
• Ability to commit to the full season
• Audition/demo required

Camera Operator

Duties:

• Operate broadcast cameras during live Dinos home events
• Follow the direction of the broadcast producer and director to capture live game action
• Assist with setup, testing, and teardown of broadcast equipment

Requirements:

• Experience operating video cameras is an asset; training may be provided for successful applicants
• Ability to follow direction and communicate effectively as part of a production crew
• Strong attention to detail and ability to react quickly during live events
• Ability to work evenings and weekends throughout the athletic season

The communications team tells the stories of Dinos student-athletes, coaches, and teams through written content, photography, statistics, video, and social media.

Available Positions

Communications Assistant

Duties:

• Provide live coverage of assigned teams across digital platforms
• Write game previews, recaps, and feature stories
• Assist with social media content creation and publishing
• Ensure league and university reporting requirements are met

Requirements:

• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Strong understanding of social media platforms
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
   

Statistician

Duties:

• Compile and distribute official game statistics
• Operate approved statistical software during home events
• Ensure compliance with Canada West and U SPORTS statistical standards

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of assigned sport
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to make quick, accurate decisions during live competition
• Experience with Genius Sports, NCAA LiveStats, StatCrew, or LeagueStat is an asset.

The events team creates a safe, enjoyable, and memorable game-day experience for every fan attending Dinos home events.

Event Staff

Possible roles include:

Concessions

Duties:

• Provide exceptional customer service to fans attending Dinos home events
• Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards
• Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately
• Stock food and beverage items throughout events
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
• Assist with opening, closing, and inventory procedures as required

Requirements:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting supplies as needed
• Previous food service or cash handling experience is an asset
• ProServe certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain, if required)

Security

Duties:

• Monitor facility access points
• Assist visiting teams, officials, and spectators
• Support crowd management and event safety
• Assist with event operations as required

Requirements:

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow established procedures
• Previous security, event operations, or customer service experience is an asset

Ticketing

Duties:

• Sell and scan tickets
• Assist with box office operations
• Provide outstanding customer service to fans

Requirements:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable handling cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately
• Strong attention to detail and basic computer proficiency
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience is an asset

The Dinos Fan Experience team creates memorable game-day experiences while growing the Dinos brand and connecting with students, alumni, fans, and the Calgary community.

Mascot

Duties:

• Perform as Rex at Dinos home events and community appearances
• Engage with fans of all ages to create memorable experiences
• Maintain the mascot costume and equipment
• Represent Dinos Athletics in a positive and professional manner

Requirements:

• Energetic and outgoing personality
• Comfortable performing in front of large crowds
• Previous mascot or performance experience is an asset

In-Game DJ

Duties:

• Operate game-day music and audio during Dinos home events
• Create an exciting atmosphere through music, sound effects, and crowd prompts
• Work closely with the game presentation team to execute the event script
• Help deliver an engaging fan experience from start to finish

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of music and live event entertainment
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Previous live event or DJ experience is an asset

Promotions

Duties:

• Interact with fans to create an energetic game-day atmosphere
• Assist with in-game contests, giveaways, and crowd engagement activities
• Support mascot appearances and promotional activations
• Represent Dinos Athletics in a professional and enthusiastic manner

Requirements:

• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills
• Comfortable engaging with large crowds
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Enthusiasm for sport and creating memorable fan experiences

Game Day Operations

Duties:

• Assist with game-day setup, event operations, and post-event teardown
• Support the coordination of the Promotions team during events
• Help execute in-game promotions, sponsor activations, and fan experiences
• Assist with game presentation logistics and other operational needs as assigned

Requirements:

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced event environment
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Previous event or sport operations experience is an asset

Public Address Announcer

Duties:

• Serve as the official voice of Dinos home events
• Deliver player introductions, game information, sponsor messaging, and promotional announcements
• Maintain an engaging and professional presentation throughout the event

Requirements:

• Strong public speaking and communication skills
• Confident speaking in front of large crowds
• Knowledge of sport is an asset
• Previous announcing or emceeing experience is preferred
