CALGARY - The University of Calgary will host three U SPORTS National Championships in 2027, with curling, swimming and women's soccer all coming to the city.
The Dinos will welcome the country's top university curlers to the Calgary Curling Club on Feb. 22-26. The Dinos men's curling team is the reigning national champion and will defend its title on home ice with several new faces on the squad, while the Dinos women's team looks to build on last season's Canada West bronze medal performance. The tournament will be hosted at the historic Calgary Curling Club, and will coincide with the ACAC curling championship in partnership with Curling Canada. The U SPORTS Swimming Championships follow on March 4-6 at the MNP Community and Sport Centre. It will be the fourth time UCalgary has hosted the event and the first since 2013, when UBC and Toronto won the national women's and men's titles in the MNP pool.

The Dinos have a storied history in U SPORTS swimming, winning 18 team titles (3 women's, 15 men's) since 1980. Their most recent titles came in 2011 when the Dinos won both national crowns.
Dinos 4th year swimmer Alexanne Lepage will be the athlete to watch, as she continues to build on her decorated career, which includes 2 Canadian senior women's records in the 50m and 100m Breaststroke. Fans can look forward to top-level competition at a top tier facility.

Most recently, U SPORTS announced that the University of Calgary has been named host of the 2027 U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship, set for Nov. 11-14 at McMahon Stadium. It will be the first time the national Women's Soccer Championship has been held at UCalgary, bringing the country's top university women's soccer teams to Calgary for four days of championship competition.

The Dinos have a strong history in U SPORTS women's soccer, winning their only national championship in 1998 with a 3-2 win over host Victoria in the final. Calgary returned to the national championship game in 2019, finishing as silver medalists. In 2025, the Dinos captured the Canada West Prairie Division title and closed the season with a conference bronze medal. Six Dinos earned Canada West postseason honours, tying a program record. So far in 2026, the Dinos are undefeated through nine games and are ranked third in the nation.

The 2027 U SPORTS Women's Soccer Championship is part of the 2027-28 U SPORTS national championship calendar and will run alongside the 2027 U SPORTS Men's Soccer Championship, hosted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton, also Nov. 11-14.
