Dinos welcome No. 10 Rams to McMahon

CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos return to McMahon Stadium on Saturday afternoon to host the University of Regina Rams in Week 5 of the Canada West season.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT. Saturday's game is the Dinos' All Cultures, One Game celebration, and fans arriving early can stop by a free Community Showcase featuring local cultural and community organizations.

HEADLINES
  • Calgary fell 42-35 to the Alberta Golden Bears at McMahon Stadium on Sept. 25. Regina opened the season with wins over Alberta and the Manitoba Bisons, then lost to the UBC Thunderbirds and the Saskatchewan Huskies.
  • The Rams won both regular season meetings last year. They took the 2025 season opener 43-36 in overtime at McMahon Stadium and won 18-12 in Regina on Oct. 4. The teams also met in the preseason this year, with the Dinos winning 39-24 at the Methanex Bowl in Medicine Hat on Aug. 23.
  • Regina has won seven of the last 10 meetings, while Calgary holds an 18-7 record against the Rams at McMahon Stadium.
  • Saturday is the only regular season meeting between the teams this year. Both teams have a bye in Week 6.

  • Calgary is averaging 31.8 points per game, second in Canada West behind Saskatchewan.
  • Quarterback David Jordan has completed 94 of 135 passes for 1,102 yards and 10 touchdowns through four games. His 275.5 passing yards per game rank second in Canada West.
  • Receiver Matt Sibley leads Canada West with 558 receiving yards, an average of 139.5 per game. The fifth-year receiver had nine catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns against Alberta.
  • Next game: After a Week 6 bye, Calgary visits the UBC Thunderbirds on Friday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. MT.

  • Regina is ranked No. 10 in the U SPORTS top 10 and is coming off a 38-31 loss to Saskatchewan. The teams were tied 17-17 at halftime before the Huskies scored three touchdowns in the third quarter. The Rams pulled within seven in the fourth quarter, helped by Chase Murray's 72-yard fumble return for a touchdown.
  • Quarterback Owen Sieben completed 22 of 34 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown against Saskatchewan. Nicholas Sirleaf led the Rams with seven catches for 87 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown.
  • Regina is averaging 178.5 rushing yards per game. Running back Marshall Erichsen led all rushers against the Huskies with 80 yards on 11 carries.
  • Next game: Regina hosts the Alberta Golden Bears on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. MT at Mosaic Stadium.
