Argos select Bosse in 2024 CFL Draft

CALGARY – Offensive lineman John Bosse of the University of Calgary Dinos football team heard his name called in the third round of the 2024 Canadian Football League Draft Tuesday evening.

Bosse was selected by the Toronto Argonauts with the fifth pick in the third round, with the 25th overall selection.

This becomes the 23rd consecutive year the Dinos have had at least one player selected in the CFL Draft, with Bosse becoming the 166th all-time CFL draftee in Dinos program history. Calgary has an incredible 79 total draftees over that 23-year span – second-most in all of U SPORTS.

Bosse has been on teams' radars at the next level for quite a while now. The standout prospect from Lester B. Pearson High School was invited to the annual U SPORTS East-West Bowl over a year ago and has been one of the top prospects in all of Canada ever since.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound lineman originally committed to Calgary to play on the defensive side of the ball before switching to the O-line after a redshirt year. He started all eight games at right tackle for Calgary last year. That came one year after playing primarily at guard on the offensive line.

This marks the first Dino selected by the Argonauts since Bosse's former lineman Peter Nicastro was taken by Toronto in the first round of 2021 CFL Draft. Bosse also becomes the 11th member of the Dinos O-line drafted in the last 10 years.
