- Calgary will look to snap a four-game skid in the head-to-head series with Saskatchewan. The Dinos last win against their neighbours to the east came back on Sept. 25, 2021 with a 34-20 victory from McMahon Stadium.
- The Dinos still own a 68-45-1 advantage all time over the Huskies, including a 62-42-1 edge in regular season action.
Calgary Dinos (1-5)
Next week: vs. Manitoba
- After suffering through a number of key injuries through the first five weeks of the season, the Dinos were the healthiest they had been all season last week and it showed. Calgary grounded UBC's high-powered offence, only allowing them on the scoreboard with 18 seconds left in a 20-6 win.
- Daniel Flanagan was named the Canada West and U SPORTS Defensive Player of the Week after his return to the field provided a big spark in Calgary's win last week. The third-year linebacker had a game-high eight tackles - including two crucial sacks - to lead an impressive defensive performance by the Dinos.
- The Dinos have found quite the home run threat through the air this season in second-year wideout Gob Deng. The Vancouver product already has career highs in yards (511) and touchdowns (4) on the year through just six games and ranks second in all of U SPORTS in yards/catch (22.2 yards), fifth in yards/game (85.2) and seventh in TDs.
- Calgary returns to McMahon Stadium for this year's regular-season finale, hosting Manitoba next Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest.
Saskatchewan Huskies (4-2)
Next week: at Regina
- Saskatchewan returns home after a 23-20 loss at Alberta last weekend to drop the Huskies to 4-2 on the season. That puts them in a tie with UBC for second place in the conference standings with two weeks left to play.
- The Week 6 loss to Alberta was the second loss at the hands of the Golden Bears for Saskatchewan this season, also falling 26-22 at home back in Week 3. Against all other opponents, the Huskies are 4-0 on the season, with a 132-86 combined scoring edge in those four wins.
- In his first season at the helm, quarterback Anton Amundrud has done well with 12 touchdowns passing and over 1700 yards through the air. But, the Dinos picked Amundrud off four times in the Week 4 contest in Calgary, as the Huskies ground game proved to be the difference down the stretch in that one.
- Saskatchewan hits the road for the final game of the regular season, making the drive south to Regina for a 1 p.m. contest from Mosaic Stadium.
