Women's Rugby files from U SPORTS communications

Dinos trio named First Team All-Canadians

Wolfville, NS – The University of Calgary Dinos led all teams with three players named First Team All-Canadians at the annual U SPORTS women's rugby All-Canadian gala on Wednesday evening.

Kasselle Menin, Berlyn Seselja, and Taejah Thompson were recognized for their outstanding seasons. Menin was also nominated for the Player of the Year after winning the award at the conference level two weeks ago, while Dinos head coach Simon Chi was up for the U SPORTS coach of the year for the fourth time in his career.

Queen's No. 8 Sophie de Goede was honoured as the U SPORTS women's rugby Player of the Year. UBC lock Rori Wood captured Rookie of the Year, while Brock fullback Katelyn Heyens earned the Student-Athlete Community Service Award for her outstanding contribution both on and off the playing field and Carleton head coach Patrick Thompson received the Jim Atkinson Award as Coach of the Year.
