MSU out, Battle of the Border schedule revised

| By:
CALGARY – The University of Calgary Dinos announced Friday that the schedule for next week's Battle of the Border men's basketball tournament has been changed after Montana State University withdrew from the competition.

The MSU Bobcats informed the Dinos early Friday that they would be unable to make the trip due to unforeseen circumstances and an incident involving two of their players. The Bobcats were scheduled to play the host Dinos on Thursday, Aug. 9, with games against the Alberta Golden Bears on Aug. 10 and the Mount Royal Cougars on Aug. 12.

As a result of the Bobcats' withdrawal, the field narrows to just three teams as the Wyoming Cowboys of the NCAA's Division I Mountain West Conference join the host Dinos along with Mount Royal. Wyoming and Calgary will square off twice on Tuesday, Aug. 7 and Friday, Aug. 10, while the Cowboys and Cougars will tip off on Wednesday night, Aug. 8. All games will be in the Jack Simpson Gym.

The University of Alberta, which had previously seen its game against Wyoming cancelled due to a scheduling conflict, will no longer make the trip south for the event after its MSU contest was also scratched.

Live stats will be available for all games at www.CanadaWest.tv.
