Lisa Harvey (BPE '94, BEd '96) is one of the greatest distance runners in Dinos history. The Calgarian led the Dinos to back-to-back national championships in 1992 and 1993, claiming the individual national titles both years, as well. While she was still a Dino, she was also already making her name well known on the international stage. In 1991, she won the silver medal in the 10,000 m at the Pan American Games in Havana. One year later, she competed in the 10,000 m at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona. In all, Harvey competed for Canada on the World Cross Country Team 10 times, as well as running at the 1991 and ’93 World Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She was named the Dinos Female Athlete of the Year in 1993 and was selected to the list of the top-40 Calgary Dinos athletes in honour of the university's 40th anniversary in 2006.
